What is the best way to decommission a server, but retain a vm image to allow easy re-activation if needed?

Question:

What is the best way to decommission a server, but retain a vm image to allow easy re-activation if needed?

Answer:

Convert the VM to a template and only pay storage fees.

To convert a VM to a template, login to dinManage and on an individual VM's dropdown menu choose "Convert to Template".

Afterwards, the image will be stored in your "My Library" tab and can be redeployed from this template at a future time of your choosing.
