Title

How to install Skype for Business along with Microsoft Office 2016 STD/PRO.


Description

When user tries to install Skype for business along with Microsoft Office 2016, its gives the error of “office click to run installer encountered a problem because you have windows installer based office programs on your computer”


Cause

Skype version (Click to run exe) was installing Microsoft service named “Microsoft Office Click To Run” and that service is conflicting with MS office 2016.

 

Resolution

This can be resolved by installing the Skype for Business (MSI Package) as mentioned below

If Client still wants to run “Click to run.exe” then you have to disable “Microsoft Office Click To Run” from Services and from Startup as well.
